Hello! I’m Rinne the Science Cat, the voice behind ChloroQuest.
Every day, I wrestle with the complexities of plant biotechnology—reading the latest research papers and diving deep into the endless potential of plants.
Our Goal: To turn everyone into a plant hacker.
Life on Earth began with photosynthetic organisms some 3 to 3.5 billion years ago.
Without them, there would be no oxygen, no aerobic life.
Without them, we wouldn’t have the power to convert sunlight into sugars—the very fuel for heterotrophic life like us.
Nearly all life, directly or indirectly, relies on the gifts of plants—not just for energy or nutrition, but even for mental well-being. In a sense, it wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say that chloroplasts—the green engines inside plant cells—have shaped the course of evolution, and continue to nurture us today.
Plants have also evolved independently and diversely. Each species has developed unique properties that affect animals and humans alike. Some are healing, others are toxic. Their functions are vast, mysterious, and still far from fully understood.
At ChloroQuest, we chase the frontiers of plant function analysis and share fascinating findings from the world of plant science.
This is a database project decoding the epic quest of chloroplast-powered lifeforms—one that’s full of life-hacking potential.
We’re also working on products that bring plant power closer to daily life. That could mean functional plants, visually stunning new flowers, or even rare varieties that could become tomorrow’s staple crops.
Through ChloroQuest, we aim to deliver plant hacks that bring joy and well-being to all of humanity.
